Werner Cautreels

Dr Cautreels holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Antwerp. Dr Cautreels was appointed CEO of Solvay Pharmaceuticals and member of the executive committee of Solvay SA in Brussels, Belgium, in January 2005. Previously, he was the global head of research and development at Solvay Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Solvay, Dr Cautreels was employed by Nycomed Amersham Ltd., Sterling Winthrop, and sanofi-aventis in a variety of R&D management positions in Europe and the United States. Dr Cautreels is director of Solvay Pharmaceuticals SARL, Solvay Pharmaceuticals BV, Solvay Pharmaceuticals SA, Solvay Pharma SA, and Fournier Industrie et Sante. He is chairman of Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc, Solvay Pharmaceuticals GmbH, Laboratoires Fournier, and BTG Pharma. In 2007, Dr Cautreels became President of The Belgium-Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce for Russia and Belarussia. Dr Cautreels has been a Director of Innogenetics since May 1999.
