Walter Van Cauwenberge has a degree in business administration from the Free University of Brussels (VUB), and was a certified public accountant. He was also a certified auditor for financial institutions and health care institutions. Mr Van Cauwenberge started his career at Arthur Andersen, holding different management positions. During his tenure at Arthur Andersen, he gained experience in mergers and acquisitions. From 1995 until 2000, Mr Van Cauwenberge was Group Vice-President Finance & Administration at Amylum. In this position, he was instrumental in focusing the organization towards key performance indicators, margin analysis, and cost savings from tax programs. He joined InBev in 2001 as Director Finance & Administration Belgium and was appointed Vice-President Control at InBev in January 2005. At InBev, he was instrumental in decreasing group working capital, focusing on business drivers and the setting up of shared services. Walter Van Cauwenberge was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Innogenetics on December 1, 2007.
