Pharmexa-Epimmune Inc (formerly Epimmune Inc)

In March 2004, Innogenetics commenced its collaboration with Pharmexa-Epimmune. This company focuses on the development of pharmaceutical products based on polyepitopes to specifically activate the body’s cellular immune system and was the originator of Danisco’s portfolio bought by Innogenetics. The epitopes are predicted by computer algorithms and evaluated both in vitro and in vivo. By combining multiple, selected epitopes into a single drug candidate, the immune response can be both broadened and optimized for strength.

In the course of 2005, Innogenetics, together with Pharmexa-Epimmune, optimized the HPV polyepitope construct and selected the epitopes for the HCV polyepitope construct. This collaboration ended in March 2006. After completion of the design of both polyepitope products, these will undergo preclinical evaluation at Innogenetics.

Pharmexa-Epimmune will earn milestone payments from Innogenetics upon successful completion of clinical development phases as well as royalty payments on any product sales, in accordance with the terms of the original license agreement with Danisco.
