In March 2001, Innogenetics and Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics signed a series of agreements in the field of in vitro nucleic acid-based viral diagnostics wherein Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics acquired the exclusive worldwide sales and marketing rights to the Innogenetics’ LiPA HCV genotyping testing products. Innogenetics is responsible for the manufacturing of these products and the research and development of future generations, such as the new VERSANT® HCV Genotype 2.0 assay launched by Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics in 2006.
Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics pays a transfer price for the purchased tests which are sold worldwide by Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics directly to the end-user.
